AZUCARERA PARAGUAYA S.A. is committed to and takes seriously the reduction of environmental impacts of all types. It is its business to treat liquid, solid and gas waste and control them so the firm can leave a positive impact on its ecosystem.
The liquid waste from the plant passes through a system of parallel sediment pools and serial aerobic pools so as to oxidate organic material.
In compliance with law, the liquid waste with low DBO and DQO levels goes into a channel heading toward an estuary before gradually moving 13 kilometers into a river.
The water flow quality is periodically checked, and its study has shown the high efficiency of the system.
Waste from the alcohol plant (i.e., vinasse) ends up in storage tanks for use in the watering and fertilization of sugarcane crops through a sophisticated system to the planting areas.
Frequent investment occurs in the expansion of the watering system in order to minimize the use of synthetic fertilizers.
Before entering the atmosphere, gas waste undergoes treatment in cleaning towers to become water vapor free of contamination. Boilers were adapted for the use of mash as a fuel to reduce wood burning.

It is the naturally-formed right-bank of the Tebicuary-mi River with white sand; it is jealously conserved. A large variety of fish life naturally thrives at this Paraguayan site.
Wedged into the heights of a mesa at 350 meters above sea level, the falls claims fame as the biggest in the country and a spectacular convergence of plant life and water. The area combines sugarcane cultivation, pine forests, native-wood forests and the falls.
The forest hosts many types of native animal and plant species which form a self-cared for environment, and contributes to high-quality superficial and underground water.
CTo foster good environmental practices, a reforestation program had been begun by firm’s founders and, now, boasts of about 700 reforested hectares which include some native species.
As well, there is a greater wooded surface with native species in complete preservation. The reforestation consists of 725 hectares of Eucalyptus and pines and 100 hectares of native types such as Lapacho, Curupay, Ybyra Pyta.
