Named for ethanol or ethyl alcohol. It is a fuel compound and derived from the fermentation of molasses, honey or cereal starch. In the Republic of Paraguay, ethyl alcohol is used as direct fuel (hydrated alcohol) or mixed with fossil fuels, complying with local regulations.
